This website sets no cookies. That is the whole policy; the rest of the page explains what it means and what happens instead.
What a cookie is
A cookie is a small file that a website asks your browser to store and to send back on subsequent visits, so the site can recognise the browser again. Cookies are what make sign-in sessions, saved preferences and — in their third-party form — tracking across different websites possible.
This site sets none
paramountworks.online sets no cookies of its own, and permits no third party to set a cookie through it. Specifically, there are no analytics cookies, no advertising or conversion cookies, no tracking pixels, no social media embeds, no session identifiers, no preference cookies and no cookies of any other description. No cookie is listed on this page because there is none to list.
The consequence is that there is no consent banner anywhere on this site, and that absence is deliberate rather than an oversight. Consent is a mechanism for permitting storage that would otherwise be unlawful; with nothing being stored, there would be nothing for you to consent to, and a banner claiming otherwise would misdescribe how the site works.
No browser storage, and no fingerprinting
The site uses no local storage, no session storage and no IndexedDB. It does not attempt to identify your browser or device by its characteristics — the practice known as fingerprinting — and it runs no code for that purpose. The only JavaScript on the site is a short first-party file that opens the mobile menu, marks the current page in the navigation and expands answers in the questions section. It is readable, unminified, stores nothing and sends nothing anywhere; you can read it at /assets/main.js.
No external requests
Every asset needed to display these pages comes from this domain. There are no web fonts loaded from an external service, no images from other hosts, no libraries from a content delivery network and no scripts from any third party. Text is displayed in a typeface already present on your device. Loading a page here therefore contacts no company other than the provider hosting this site.
What happens instead
The provider hosting this site keeps ordinary server logs, as any web server does. Each request records the IP address, the browser's user agent string, the address requested, the response code and the timestamp. These logs are used to keep the site available and secure, and they are retained for up to 30 days. They are described in full in the privacy policy, together with the position on disclosure outside Australia under Australian Privacy Principle 8.
Cookies on other websites
Following a link from this site to another — whether an advertising link to a vendor, or a link to an Australian government body — takes you to a site with its own policies. Most commercial sites do set cookies, and this publisher has no control over, and no visibility of, what they set. Their own cookie notices apply once you arrive.
Blocking and clearing cookies anyway
Nothing here needs to be blocked, but browser controls apply across all the sites you visit and are worth knowing. Every current browser offers settings for cookies and site data, usually under privacy or security in its settings, where you can block third-party cookies, block all cookies, clear what is already stored, or have the browser clear it each time it closes. Browsers also offer private or incognito windows, which discard cookies and storage when the window closes. Your browser's own help pages describe where each of these sits, as the location changes between versions.
Blocking all cookies breaks sign-in on many websites, so a common middle setting is to block third-party cookies while allowing first-party ones. It makes no difference to this site either way.
If this ever changes
Should this site ever introduce a cookie or any similar technology, three things happen before it goes live, not afterwards: this page is updated to name the cookie, state its purpose and give its lifetime; the privacy policy is updated to match; and a working consent mechanism is put in place, so that nothing is stored on your device before you have agreed to it. A revised effective date at the top of this page marks any such change.
